Testimonials

Because I was concerned about the clarity and speech of my 3-year-old, I was very pleased that we had this wonderful resource. Kim was a plethora of useful information, and provided many exercises and relayed vital tips to utilize in our daily lives. After one session, I truly noticed my son speaking more words and sentences.

Thank you, Miss Kim!

Mrs. Sabourin,

I want to thank you for the work you have done with my daughter Celsiana.

After we received a report of potential reading disability and/or dyslexia from Celsi’s 5th grade teacher, my husband and I did not know where to turn. You spent a great deal of time with our daughter and the testing was very comprehensive. You were able to reassure us that Celsi was on target for her age in terms of reading and speech and above her age level for comprehension. The testing process and results raised Celsi’s self esteem. She no longer feels "slower" than her classmates; she has approached school with renewed confidence.

Again, thank you for all of your support during this difficult time.

I think it was very helpful as a first-time parent to learn how to help Andrew speak. The exercises helped me each week. I think this would be a great and popular class for first-time moms. I feel more confident now that I am doing everything I should to help Andrew speak.

I have learned how to speak to Shane and know what to say. This class helped Shane to speak more and say more words. I found myself saying words aloud during everyday activities. Overall, this class taught me important ways to communicate with my child. Thank you!! Shane is also starting to communicate with others!

Kim,

You, with the help from Temple and the Rossimany Fund, have done something that I NEVER thought would be possible: the ability to communicate with other people. The Speech-Easy has improved my life more than you’ll ever know…With the device I am now able to do things such as order my own meal when out with my family and make important/time consuming phone calls to strangers. Most importantly, I am able to read to my children at bedtime with enthusiasm, confidence, and proper silly voices (where applicable).

After seeing the results some people were having with the Speech-Easy, I was willing to jeopardize the financial stability of my family to purchase one for myself. Thanks to the incredible generosity of strangers, I was able to receive a device, participate in clinical research, and become a Speech-Easy success story.

To clarify, the Speech-Easy alone IS NOT a sure-fire cure to my stutter. There have been instances where it has not worked at all. As long as I am able to keep a good handle on breathing and ease in to my "problem letters", the device turns my blocks from mountains to speed bumps. Realizing I did not get stuck on an anticipated block is still somewhat exhilarating!

Shortly after receiving my device, I had a birthday party at my house. There were several people who commented on my fluency (they didn’t notice i was wearing it!!!) and how they’d never seen me so talkative. I even interjected myself into intellectual debates which is something I only do around my CLOSEST friends and family, yielding amazing results.

In conclusion, there are no words or actions strong enough to repay my debt to you and your associates. All I can say is a very sincere:

Thank you,

Jason

Our experience with Speech Therapy began when our son was 4 years old. After 5 years of therapy for stuttering, we felt our son’s progress had been limited. After re-consulting with our pediatrician, we were referred to Kim Sabourin.

Now in our second year with Kim, our son has made significant gains. He has learned techniques, which we continually work on at home. Kim’s extensive knowledge base has increased our family’s understanding of stuttering. Our son’s self-confidence has increased with the goal of educating his classmates and teachers with a presentation on stuttering. Kim has turned a painful experience into one of understanding and accomplishment.
